Edwards, George.

Known as "the father of British ornithology", George Edwards was a naturalist born in East London. He travelled extensively in Europe and gained a reputation for his colored drawings of birds and animals. He published books on birds, as well as other subjects of natural history, including fossils. Some of the species he defined had not been described before.
