Pennant, Thomas.

This wildlife artist was born to Welsh gentry, and educated in London and at Oxford University. Pennant showed an interest in natural history from age twelve. Subjects he later showed a particular flair for include minerals and fossils. He published books including two on quadrupeds, and one on arctic zoology, as well as travels in Britain. His wildlife art include an elephant and a bison.
