Wildlife Art by artist :- Rungius, Carl

Rungius, Carl.

Carl Rungius is one of the acknowledged masters of late nineteenth and early twentieth century American wildlife art. His style developed from the tightly rendered and accurately academic work of his early career to the more painterly, loose and impressionist-influenced style of his maturity. Also, as he developed, Rungius moved away from early influences of emotional dramatisation and popular views to his own natural experience of his subjects in their environment.

His subjects often include moose and bears, and he occasionally paints a pure landscape as well as animal art. He found it important to sketch and paint outdoors, to ensure the natural color accuracy, then creating full-scale pieces in the studio.

"Monarchs of the Wilderness", a superb wildlife art painting of two moose in their forest wilderness, the light playing beautifully amid the fall colors of the tress. (click the image to buy it).
